Paul Heckles, an anti-money laundering and combatting the financing of terrorism expert at the Isle of Man Government Cabinet Office will be among the speakers at a forthcoming conference.

Caren Pegg, a partner at law firm Appleby, will also be in the line up.

The event is ICSA: The Governance Institute’s annual conference for governance, risk and compliance professionals in the Isle of Man.

Taking place at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas on Wednesday, May 10, the conference will focus on the steps businesses and other organisations can take to secure their future during times of great risk and uncertainty.

The conference, which also focuses on corporate governance, leadership, minute taking, financial risk management and mindfulness, will feature:

Peter Swabey, policy and research director, ICSA: The Governance Institute, who will be presenting ICSA’s new guidance about minute taking

Steve Billinghurst, advisory director, PwC, who will be demonstrating how firms can apply, measure and manage risk effectively across an entire business

Dr Dina Gray, strategic business consultant; visiting fellow, Cranfield University and Author, who will be considering how mindfulness can help simplify decision making and make management of board dynamics more effective.
