Three companies are joining forces to promote the Isle of Man in the north west of England.

On Tuesday, November 20, they will be heading to Manchester to make a presentation to members of a business organisation called Downtown in Business.

Teaming up are Peregrine Corporate Services Limited, DQ Advocates and The International Stock Exchange.

Downtown in Business was established in Liverpool in 2003 to provide leadership to the private sector, by articulating the views of its members to the public-sector agencies that govern the city and to create modern networking environments that would attract entrepreneurs, business owners and decision-makers in high growth companies.

Downtown in Business has earned a reputation as one of the most influential, effective business organisations in the North of England and the West Midlands, with offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

John Hunter, head of banking and fiduciaries at Finance Isle of Man, will talk about the Isle of Man and the role the public private partnership and the Department for Enterprise plays.

Carolyn Gelling, head of the Isle of Man Office at TISE, will discuss how the Exchange is a listing and trading facility for companies to raise capital from investors,

Sinead O’Connor, head of regulatory and compliance at DQ, will discuss regulation in the Isle of Man, and Nick Kelly, director at Peregrine, will address how people use structures in the Isle of Man and what benefit that has for them.

John Hunter said: ’This is a great opportunity to work alongside businesses to promote, support, and contribute to the quality and professionalism of the Isle of Man’s finance sector and to build long lasting, mutually beneficial, relationships with the north west of England.

’As an executive agency within the Department for Enterprise, Finance Isle of Man is a public/private partnership, acting as a key decision maker and advisory body for the economic prosperity of the sector.’
