The Isle of Man Bank’s mobile banking van Penny is to return to Manx roads in January next year.

Penny will visit towns and villages where the Isle of Man Bank has closed branches, including in Peel and Castletown where closures were recently announced.

The reintroduction of Penny will, the bank said, help provide guidance and support to customers on how to register for and use digital banking; help vulnerable customers with their banking needs; support customers as the bank moves to a reduced branch footprint and support personal customers with their day to day banking.

Stuart Chivers, head of local banking, said ’As we invest further into digital banking services we will continue to review how we use our branches, including Penny, based on the needs and behaviour of customers.

Any future changes will be communicated with customers directly.’
