International corporate and trust service provider, Sentient International, has promoted Phil Hassall to compliance director and his appointment to the board of the business in the Isle of Man.
Mr Hassall said: ’There have been a lot of positive changes at Sentient recently so it is an exciting time for all of us.
’I feel privileged to find myself in this new position and I am looking forward to being more involved in the decision-making processes that will help shape the future of Sentient, as well as assisting my fellow board members to grow and develop the business here in the Isle of Man and further afield.’
He joined Sentient in 2011 as compliance manager, prior to which he held various compliance roles within the banking, insurance and corporate services sectors.
His role includes working with the new business team in respect of various aspects including risk assessment and sign-off of new clients, as well as the development and implementation of internal AML/CFT (anti money laundering and combatting the financing of terrorism) policies and procedures. he will also continue to be MLRO (money laundering reporting officer) for the business.

The company, based at the Jet Centre at Ronaldsway, offers specialist knowledge within a number of ’niche’ industry sectors, including aviation, fintech, property, shipping and yachting.
