PwC Isle of Man has welcomed nine new student recruits to its professional training programme.
The 2020 intake comprises a mix of graduates and school leavers, who have all joined as assurance trainees.
The group has completed their three-week induction, began their studies towards professional accountancy qualifications and started working in the firm’s audit teams with a variety of global and local clients across different industries.
Nichola Christison, assurance director at PwC Isle of Man, responsible for people said: ‘At our core, PwC is a learning organisation and our annual student training programme is pivotal to this. It has been wonderful to welcome the class of 2020, despite so much instability for young people as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
‘As they embark on their development journey with us they are establishing their careers on the Island and enhancing our agile and adaptable workforce for the years to come.
‘It is an exciting time to join us as our business is evolving.
‘Technology is disrupting how we work and through our upskilling programme, New world.
‘New skills, we will be investing in building the digital fitness of our people, and in technologies for supporting clients.’
A career in assurance offers students the opportunity to gain a range of transferable business, personal and technical skills and PwC Isle of Man offers two learning routes for trainees to join their assurance department.
School and College leavers undertake their professional accountancy qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) over four years and graduates study for the ICAEW ACA qualification over three years.
