Manx Telecom has made three promotions within its corporate and customer sales teams and boss Gary Lamb has praised them for rising to the challenge in difficult circumstances.

Scott Bradley has become head of corporate sales on a permanent basis after covering this position temporarily for several months.

Mr Bradley has more than 17 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT managed service provider sectors, including 10 years as service delivery manager for 2e2 and seven years as account manager for Manx Telecom.

He will head a team of 15, working with business customers.

Mr Bradley said: ’Working within both sales and service roles has given me an understanding of the pressures customers face, both in terms of operational functionality and budgetary constraints.

’It’s really important to listen to what our customers want and to use our experience to deliver the best value we can. I’m already looking at ways we can enhance the services our corporate division provides, building on the knowledge and passion we already have in the team to help keep our customers one step ahead.’

Ross Mayers has been appointed to the new position of head of consumer sales and service following a three-year tenure as sales and operation manager. His new role will see him become responsible for a team of around 70 people, including the contact centre as well as consumer sales staff.

Mr Mayers has previously worked for Marks and Spencer and Carphone Warehouse in operational and store management roles.

He said: ’I believe the simple approach is often the best, so I am always trying to remove and remodel complex processes both for our own benefit and ultimately to make it easier for our customers to do business with us.

’At the moment, the way we work has undergone a lot of change which has its challenges; at the same time, it’s exciting to see what we can achieve.’

Stepping into Ross’s previous role of consumer sales manager is Callum Shepherd, who has worked for the company for 10 years and is a well-known figure in the Manx Telecom shop which he has managed for several years.

As a self-confessed ’technology geek’ Mr Shepherd is is looking forward to sharing new developments with customers. He said: ’Working in the retail store has given me a great understanding of the local market and, with all the changes that Covid-19 has brought about, it seems that the Isle of Man has really started to embrace the digital age so this is a great time to help create a new chapter for Manx Telecom.’

Manx Telecom chief executive Gary Lamb said: ’It is a credit to all three of my colleagues that they have risen to new challenges, especially in the current difficult circumstances when customers are relying on our services more than ever.
