A visit to Manx Telecom’s Strand Street store during the Christmas period proved to be perfect timing for one customer.

Steven Ormond-Smith received an iPad 32GB and Apple Watch Series 4 in a prize draw held in the run up to Christmas.

He won the prize for being the 35,000th customer to visit the store between October 29 and Christmas Eve.

Callum Shepherd, the retail manager for Manx Telecom, said: ’Overall, we had a fantastic festive season with over 35,000 customers visiting our store.

’It shows that Strand Street is still a really popular place to shop, and is a contrast to news from the UK where the British Retail Consortium (BRC) reported that retailers experienced their worst Christmas in a decade.’
