Rachael Hooper has been promoted at island company SMP Accounting and Tax.

And Neil Cowley has just joined the team.

SMP Accounting & Tax is part of leading independent corporate services provider SMP Partners.

Rachael, with the firm for more than four years, has stepped up the career ladder to be senior manager.

She is responsible for international tax advisory services provided to private clients, trusts and companies and is a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor.

Rachael qualified with a Big Four accountancy firm in the Isle of Man while working within their tax department.

In addition to being on the committee for the Isle of Man branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, she is president of the Isle of Man Business Network and is on the committee for Chamber of Commerce sub-group FUEL (Future Emerging Leaders).

Neil joins SMP Accounting & Tax from the tax department of one of the Big Four accountancy firms of the island and is more than halfway to becoming a chartered accountant.

In his new role he will be working with with tax advisory services for clients in the Isle of Man, UK and international markets. Neil’s particular area of focus will be non-UK resident and UK resident non-domiciled individuals, trusts and companies as well as property taxation.
