The Ginger Hall pub in Sulby has been voted the best pub on the island in a recent Twitter competition.
The Ginger Hall received over a thousand votes in the online poll, followed by runners up Quids Inn, which was able to claim the ’much deserved’ title of ’Best Boozer in Douglas’.
Quarter-finalists in the competition of more than 100 Manx pubs and bars included: the The Woodbourne, The Creg-Ny-Baa, Foraging Vintners and The Thirsty Pigeon.
Ginger Hall landlord Ben Sowrey said: ’I’m absolutely delighted.
’My goal for The Ginger has always been for it to be a destination venue where people know they can enjoy top live music, good food and good ale, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
’I feel this outcome is validation we’re going in the right direction.
The competition was organised by Andreas-based spirits company Outlier distilling, and it ran for a month.
’It was great to see two pubs that support local music so passionately go head-to-head in the final’, said Outlier’s Ian Warborn-Jones.
