Tommy Corlett has joined iGaming and fintech licensing, compliance and operational consultancy SolutionsHub as head of regulatory assurance and remediation.
Mr Corlett spent nine years with the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC). He started as a gaming inspector and moved into Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism inspections in November 2023 as senior inspector. Most recently, he was looking at whether island companies were actually meeting their AML/CFT obligations.
The Douglas firm’s chief executive Lee Hills said: ‘Tommy has spent nine years looking at businesses from the regulator's side of the table, so he knows exactly what gets tested and where firms can come unstuck.
‘His experience is going to be incredibly useful for our clients. He knows what regulators expect to see, how they test it and what happens when the evidence does not stack up.
‘We're really pleased to have him with us. He'll make a huge difference to the work we're doing around assurance and remediation.’
Mr Corlett added: ‘After nine years at the GSC, I am ready to use my experience in a different way and help businesses understand what regulators are actually looking for when they test something in practice.
‘What appealed to me about SolutionsHub was the focus on evidence and on sorting problems properly when something needs fixing. I'm really looking forward to working with Lee and the team and getting stuck into the work with operators.’
Mr Corlett will work with SolutionsHub clients entering regulated markets and with online gambling businesses already managing ongoing compliance.
