Following the closure of Jack Frost, caterer and wholesaler Top Banana is to launch its own meals on wheels service.
The service is likely to be used by many people who received meals on wheels from a government provider until that was cut.
Jack Frost took over deliveries to many of those people but last month stopped trading.
Top Banana, based in Saddlestone, is taking orders from today (Tuesday) and due to start deliveries on Thursday, May 3.
Company director Jane Royle said: ’The meals, including a main course and dessert, are frozen and can be cooked in an oven or microwave. There is a good range to choose from, including vegetarian and gluten-free.
’Top Banana plans to extend this range and also introduce sandwiches, fruit and basic items such as bread, milk, eggs and toilet rolls.’
