Simcocks Advocates welcomed Emily Johnson to its dispute resolution team.

Mrs Johnson has joined the firm as a trainee advocate, scheduled to finish her articles in October this year, and having passed the Manx Bar exams on her first sitting last year.

She gained her graduate diploma in Law and her bar professional training course via distance and part time study while she worked.

She has acquired more than five years’ experience in law already in various forums, and was brought up in the profession, as her parents run their own legal firm in the UK.

At Manchester Metropolitan University, Mrs Johnson gained the Dean’s Award for top performing student in advanced civil practice, civil litigation, opinion writing and professional ethics.

As well as her achievements in the field of law, Mrs Johnson boasts several awards for her equine interests.

She has ridden competitively in dressage, show jumping and three-day eventing competitions.

Phil Games, chief executive, said: ‘Emily is an extremely promising young advocate with an already impressive track record.

‘We’re very pleased to welcome her to the team and to be investing in the future of law in the Isle of Man.’
