Bosses claim they are on a mission to ’strip away the jargon’.

The promise has come from a newly-established firm of independent financial advisers in Douglas.

Chancery Advisors Limited, in Exchange House, Athol Street, has been formed by local and international financial services industry professionals Rob O’Connor and Chris Connor.

Managing director Mr O’Connor has more than 30 years’ industry experience and has lived and worked in the Isle of Man for 18 years.

Director Mr Connor, who has more than 35 years’ industry experience, is a former managing director of Barclays Private Clients International and also served as chief operating officer of Barclays Wealth banking operations.

Mr O’Connor said: ’The financial services landscape is complex, but independent financial advice doesn’t have to be.

’That was our guiding principle when Chris and I set up Chancery Advisors Limited; to unravel the intricacies of wealth management and portfolio construction options, for example, and to deliver simple, straightforward independent financial advice to our local and international clients.’

Mr O’Connor continued: ’To deliver this strategy we’re fortunate in having appointed a highly motivated team who share our vision to provide uncompromising levels of bespoke client service.

’We are also a part of the Nayyar Group of Companies, which gives us a global reach.

’The coronavirus crisis has unsettled "the everyday" for everyone this past year - a turbulent period marked by uncertainty.’
