Once the face of UK teen pop rock, a newly reformed boy band are back on the road and heading to the Isle of Man.

Busted are appearing at the Villa Marina on Monday, June 24, from 8pm.

The three-piece pop rockers, featuring singers and guitarists Charlie Simpson and James Bourne, and bassist Matt Willis, are in the middle of a tour promoting ’Half Way There’, their fourth album and their second since reforming a year and a half ago.

Having exploded into prominence as the defining face of the British pop rock scene of the noughties, the groups scored successive hits with teen-influenced, bugglegum rock songs, such as ’What I Go To School For’, ’Year 3000’ and ’Crashed the Wedding’.

After two albums, they spilt, with Charlie forming the hardcore group Fightstar, James fronting ’Son of Dork’ and Matt enjoying a brief solo career.

A reunion of sorts occurred in 2013 when Matt and Jason teamed up with their fellow teen rocker McFly to tour and record as ’McBusted’, which proved successful.

Charlie rejoined the ranks in 2015, and the threesome have emerged with their comeback release ’Night Driver’, complete with a more mature edge to their familiar pop-edged sound.

’It was unthinkable that we would’ve got back together,’ said James, in a recent interview.

’It was unthinkable that we’d play Glastonbury. It was even unthinkable that we’d have this fourth album having only had two when we split up.’

’That’s life. Unexpected things happen all the time, and you never know where it’s going.’

’Whatever else we do in life, Busted is part of who we are,’ said Matt.

’It’s ingrained in my personality and in who I am. Most people know me as Matt from Busted. That’s my full name.’

’We’d had an incredibly privileged life in music,’ added Charlie.

’It’s a tough industry and we’ve been able to do the most unbelievable things.

’I wouldn’t change a moment of it.’

Busted will be making their island debut alongside an as-yet-to-be-announced special guest.

Tickets are £34.50 or £37 for an upstairs seat, available from the Welcome Centre or the Villa Marina Box office, or online from villagaiety.com
