The Cabinet Office has been announced as the winner of The Lansons Award for the Public Sector Achievement of the Year.
The organisation responsible for running Year of our Island, a year-long celebration through events, promotions and activities, claimed the title at tonight’s Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards For Excellence.
Project manager Anna Goldsmith collected the award.
The judges said: ‘Year of Our Island provided a great opportunity for government, the private sector and the community to work together to celebrate our island, our community, our culture and our heritage.’
The range of activities as part of the initiative was far reaching across all demographics in the island, giving people an increased sense of community and pride.
In order to fulfil the programme the team worked beyond their usual roles and put in longer hours, demonstrating their resilience and will to get the job done.
