The art of capturing the island’s nature and environment in all its glory will be the feature evening of a forthcoming week of wildlife events.

Five of the island’s foremost wildlife photographers will be the feature of ’Nature Through A Lens’, organised by UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man and held at the Manx Museum on Thursday, July 8, from 7pm.

Peter Killey, Mike Radcliffe, Sean Corlett, Leigh Morris and Catherine Devine will all take part in the talk dedicated to exploring the different types of wildlife and environmental photography opportunities in the island.

Leigh Morris, the chief executive of Manx Wildlife Trust, is an experienced under-water photographer and Sean Corlett, drew inspiration from the insect and wildlife visitors to his wildflower garden.

Both Mike Radcliffe and Peter Killey are renowned landscape and wildlife photographers, both having the knack of capturing stunning images of birdlife and the natural beauty of the island.

Catharine Devine is a recent graduate in photography from Manchester University, who practices a diverse range of photography, including people enjoying nature.

The event is part of the forthcoming Manx Wildlife Week, organised by Manx National Heritage in conjunction with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man and Manx Wildlife Trust. Geoffrey Boot MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, said: ’The Isle of Man is a photographer’s paradise, with such wonderful land and seascapes and wildlife species.

’We have some incredibly talented photographers in the island and it is great that five of them will be sharing some of their favourite images, and giving us some tips on techniques, during Manx Wildlife Week.

’The illustrated talk will be of interest to nature lovers, photographers and would-be photographers alike.’

Manx Wildlife Week takes place between Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 11, with a range of walks, events, workshops and talks.
