This was the scene after a mobile cement silo brought down power lines in St John’s.

Residents were left without power for some time after the incident which took place at just after 10.40am yesterday (Saturday) on Peel Road in the village.

A commercial vehicle had been towing the mobile cement silo when it damaged the overhead power lines.

Fire crews from Peel made the area safe until the arrival of engineers from Manx Utilities who repaired the damage and restored power supplies to the home affected.
