Funds for the Children’s Centre have received a welcome boost thanks to sponsorship by accountancy firm Crowe of this year’s Manx 3 Peaks Challenge.

The challenge, which sees walkers set out from Ramsey to conquer North Barrule, Snaefell and Bienn-y-Phott, before finishing on Laxey Promenade, raised £21,699 for the charity.

Crowe chief executive Phaedra Bird said: ’Crowe was delighted to sponsor this year’s Manx 3 Peaks Challenge.

’As one of the entrants I found the event challenging, but enormously rewarding to be in the company of so many people eager to conquer the peaks and to be helping to raise funds for such a deserving cause.’

Head of the Children’s Centre, Joff Whitten, said: ’The Children’s Centre were thrilled to establish this new and exciting partnership with Crowe.

’We are all astonished how well this year’s event went as we all acknowledge we have been working in such challenging circumstances.

’The money raised exceeded our expectations and these funds will be used to furnish the newly created wellbeing therapy room here at the farm and will be a vital asset to the site where we are able to support the vulnerable in a safe and comfortable environment.’
