Romantics in Ramsey looking for some Valentine’s Day recipes can try out some freshly cooked Manx meat dishes in a Co-op store today (February 11).

Well-known chef Maciej Mierzejewski will be at Co-op’s Christian Street, Ramsey, shop from midday to cook up meals using Isle of Man Meats’ hogget (mature lamb), and offering free samples for customers to try. Maciej’s menu will include shepherd’s pie, Moroccan stew, and a roast leg of hogget with a Chinese-style sauce.

Isle of Man Meats recently won six Great Taste Awards, said to be the UK food industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.

Kirree Kermode, procurement officer at Isle of Man Meats, said: ’It’s a great opportunity for more people to try our awarding-winning meats, and share the love for local produce.

’In addition to being a fantastic chef, Maciej is brilliant at helping people with tips to make the recipes at home. We will be handing out recipe cards - and of course the Co-op’s Christian Street store has a range of Isle of Man Meats products for customers who want to Make Sure It’s Manx on Valentine’s Day.’
