Charity Paws for Therapy has received a donation of £200, thanks to springer spaniel and his owner.

Raymotors of Ramsey recently ran a competition on Facebook to find the island’s ’dirtiest dog’, with the winner receiving a voucher and a chance to nominate a charity of their choice for a donation.

The competition attracted more than 100 entries.

The winner was Talisker, a nominated by owner Georgie Self.

Georgie’s chosen charity was Paws for Therapy (Isle of Man), which arranges therapeutic visits by dogs and their volunteer handlers to, among others, care homes, special needs units, the hospice and day care centres.

David Casement from Raymotors said: ’While it was a fun competition to run, there was also a chance for someone to help people in our community with the £200 donation. Both young and old alike benefit from the wonderful work carried out by Paws for Therapy and their four-legged volunteers. Congratulations to Georgie - and to Talisker!’
