Charlie Beard is 15, and lives with his parents in Douglas with brother Eddie, 17, and sisters Lizzie, 19 and Nell, nine
Currently studying for his GCSEs at Ballakermeen High School, Charlie is a keen sportsman and cricket fan.
He plays cricket for Finch Hill, and has also represented the Isle of Man national cricket team, captaining the under 14s team, when they beat Buckinghamshire at Bromsgrove earlier this year.
What is your idea of a perfect meal?
The perfect meal would be a trip down to La Pizza with my family. I know it’s basic but I love a good pepperoni pizza.
What is your favourite way to relax?
The perfect way to relax in my opinion is to kick my feet up on the sofa and watch an England cricket test match.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I don’t spend that much money at the moment but I’m sure that will change in the next couple of years.
Do you have any pets?
I have a cute little dog named Stigletz, who I find incredibly hard to leave in the morning.
What is your greatest achievement?
It would have to be captaining the Under 14 Isle of Man Cricket team to a victory on tour last summer. I felt proud to represent the island.
What is your favourite time of the year?
The summer holidays (despite the poor weather most years). I have a break from school to do basically whatever I want. Plus, it’s the prime time to play cricket.
What is the first job you ever had?
I worked for my Dad in my garden when I was younger but I never pursued it as a career.
Do you have any irrational fears?
I have a fear of snakes but that isn’t the biggest issue over here.
What is your worst habit?
Leaving my shoes around the house is a big issue of mine and I think my Mum would agree.
What is your favourite book?
Refugee Boy is a heartwarming book that I found fantastic. I would recommend to all ages.
What is your favourite TV programme?
The American version of the Office is easily my favourite TV Programme. Steve Carell is my favourite actor and he plays the funniest role as the boss, Michael Scott.
What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?
Ed Sheeran is an idol of mine and I find that he is a really genuine guy. His song writing skills are amazing.
What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?
I’m really fond of Laxey Beach. I feel it is a calm place to relax with family or friends.
What is the last show/band that you saw live?
I haven’t seen many bands live but I saw Madness at a family festival in England last summer and they were superb.
If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?
A barbecue on a hot, summer day surrounded by friends and family.
Choose three people, dead or alive, to invite to dinner?
Andrew Flintoff, Steve Carell and Usain Bolt. I feel like they are all comedic and have all achieved great things in their careers.
