The Women in Song Community Choir welcomed Lucy Buxton, chief executive of the Manx Deaf Society, to a rehearsaly and presented her with a cheque for £500. The society has built up a small library of commercially-available alarms, clocks and phones, specially designed to assist with hearing loss, which it loans out for home trial.

This facility gives people the opportunity to ensure that the product is right for them before they buy.

However, as manufacturers are constantly upgrading and developing new products the society needs to replace its loan stock regularly and their donation would help with this.
