The circus is coming to town. A family circus fun day will be held at Vagabonds Rugby Club in Braddan on Sunday from midday to 4pm.
It promises to be an entertaining afternoon at Ballafletcher with funfair attractions that include a Ferris wheel, a carousel, a bouncy castle, a mega slide, an obstacle course and some food and drink stalls.
There is also a chance for children to win some fun prizes in a circus-themed fancy dress competition.
The main purpose of the event is to raise funds for Crossroads’ Young Carers Project.
The afternoon is being organised with support from Quilter International.
The investments and wealth management company is on target to reach its three-year goal of donating £60,000 to ’Crossroads Young Carers Project’ by the end of 2021.
Megan Faragher, fundraiser at Crossroads, said: ’Quilter International has been supporting our Young Carers Project for two years and during that time their amazing team have raised £20,000 which has been doubled by match-funding.
’The £40,000 donated so far has already helped us to employ a young carers’ support worker as part of a broader initiative to allow even more carers to benefit from our services and support.
’They also helped us to fund and organize a Young Carers Festival that we held in 2019, which was a brilliant event and thanks to Quilter International’s support the Family Circus Fun Day promises to be even bigger and better.’
