The final concert in a series of classical music events, held in the north of the island, will feature a joint performance from two stunning virtuoso musicians.

The Ramsey Music Season will bring the curtain down on their 2018/19 season with a concert from Italian guitarist Alberto Mesirca and the Dutch and English violinist Daniel Rowland, on Monday, March 18 at St Paul’s Church, Ramsey, from 7.30pm.

The duo will perform a set of classical music, including pieces by Paganini, Inescu, de Falla and Piazzolla.

Both musicians have won multiple music awards and have performed in many countries across the world.

Daniel is a professor of the violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has established himself on the international music scene as a highly charismatic, colourful and adventurous performer.

Up until early 2019 he was the first violin of the world-renowned Brodsky quartet, and he is now concentrating on his own solo career.

Alberto, who studied for both his bachelor and masters degrees at the prestigious Italian music college the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto, has been called one of the finest interpreters of the work of the composer Domenico Scarlatti.

Tickets for the concert, supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council, are £12, available on the door. Children and students are free.

The 2019/20 season begins with a concert by the Japanese classical pianist Yo Kosuge.
