Ramsey Coastguard was called out to deal with an oil pollution incident in the town’s harbour.
Reports of the pollution came in at 5.45pm on Wednesday.
The oil was widely dispersed and could be seen the whole length of the harbour.
After a thorough search, the Coastguard team were unable to find the source of the pollution.
Taking into consideration the tide and wind direction, it was advised that some absorbent booms were set up in the corner of the harbour near to Mezeron.
These will be in place and monitored over the next few days in the hope that some of the pollution will be absorbed.
