The Inner Wheel Club of Rushen and Western Mann raised more than £2,500 at its recent annual coffee morning.

The Christmas-themed event was held in aid of club president Linda Lewis’s chosen charity, Hospice Compassionate Care at Home.

This year’s event was held at a new venue and the club wishes to thank The Falcon’s Nest in Port Erin for its hospitality, support, providing the coffee and for setting up and decorating the room.

Club correspondent Lesley Scott said: Luckily the weather was kind and many people came to enjoy coffee with homemade mince pies and shortbread.

’The stalls were laden with crafts, gifts and cakes including the fabulous Christmas cakes made by our own Lynda Warren.

’Kelly Collard sang a selection of Christmas songs which put everyone into a festive spirit and helped to make the day into a huge success.

’Heartfelt thanks must go to our president Linda Lewis and our community services officer Mary-Jean Lindon for all their work in organising the event and to all the members, helpers and the people who came to support us on the day.’
