A community arts facility has been brightened up by the unveiling of two new colourful works of art.
Members of the Hub, a social and community arts centre based at Thie Rosien, in Port Erin, produced two eye-catching silk banners, each measuring six foot in height.
The large banners depict and reflect the closeness of Port Erin to the sea and feature a scene of people enjoying the beach and an underwater seascape.
The project to create the paintings was led by island-based painter and ceramic artist Debra Carney-Tracey and was designed to encourage beginners and newcomers to painting to get involved with creative projects.
Alongside the two large murals, there were other smaller pieces created that will also hang on the hub walls.
Ruth Martin, the Southern Communities Initiative coordinator who runs the Hub and who has recently taken over from the previous coordinator, Janet Bridle, said that the project proved popular with the new members, many of whom saying that they would not have had the confidence to join in with such a group and they have enjoyed the chance to learn new skills.
The project was backed by the Isle of Man Arts Council.
