Members of a pony club are today (Friday) heading to England to take part in a competition.
In total 20 members of the Ballawhetstone Stables Pony Club Centre are taking part in the Pony Club Prince Philip Cup in Lancashire.
Stella Hampton, Ballawhetstone proprietor, said: ’The chance to provide our members with a taste of a regional competition is one we did not want to miss.
’The children that attend our pony club do not own their own ponies so, under normal circumstances, would not be able to experience such a competition.
’They come to Ballawhetstone to experience riding, without the time and financial commitments associated with owning a pony. The memories from our forthcoming trip will last a lifetime.’
Stella thanked their principal sponsor, Mylchreests Group, for support with use of a vehicle, and the Steam Packet for the support through its assisted travel programme.
The Isle of Man Pony Club Branch is also sending two teams to the games.
Ballawhetstone Pony Club sessions take place during term time on a Monday and Wednesday evening. Full details can be found on the Ballawhestone Stables Facebook page.
