On April 7, Orrisdale Methodist Chapel in Michael held a Sankey evening and ’Oie’ll Voirrey’.
Around 30 people attended.
The evening consisted of requests for Sankey hymns and items of music and poetry from the audience.
There was no shortage of volunteers.
David Jackson was the compere and Eric Kelly was organist on a new organ which has been donated to the chapel. Jane Kaighin organized the refreshments.
Four people attended who are direct descendants of Patrick Cannell, who donated the land and chapel in 1843.
There has been a revival of interest in the chapel in the last year.
