The Cosy Nook in Port Erin has re-opened.

The popular beach side cafe did not open on April 1 for the start of the season after a structural engineer recommended areas of the building are not used for safety reasons.

The local authority has now done some repair work, so tenant Phil Maltby opened the cafe last Tuesday.

Mr Maltby has run the cafe since May 2004.

His lease expires in 2019 and the authority plans to put the tenancy out to tender and carry out maintenance work.
