Douglas could see the introduction of ’pet friendly’ fireworks.

Councillor Jon Joughin raised the issue by saying:’It is always nice to see public events.

’But will the chairman (of the regeneration and community committee Councillor Stephen Pitts) consider fireworks that are pet friendly without the big bangs?’

Mr Joughin also noted his dogs Barclay and Dillon would most appreciate it.

Mr Pitts replied: ’The committee is open to all ideas, we care about all animals, especially Barclay and Dillon and it certainly can be explored.’

It was also confirmed the 2018 bonfire night fireworks are planned to be launched from a barge in Douglas Bay due to tidal forecasting.
