An island couple are taking part in the London Marathon next month to raise money for two charities.

Ben Quayle and Tabby Wright will be running the Virgin Money London Marathon 2021 in aid of Anthony Nolan charity and Isle of Man Breast Care.

The twice-rescheduled marathon takes place on Sunday, October 3.

It is the first time either of them has run a full marathon.

Tabby, aged 27, is a primary school teacher at Henry Bloom Noble Primary School in Douglas and Ben, 29, is a commercial director at Black Grace Cowley.

Tabby has completed various half marathons around the world, including the Sydney Half Marathon and the Great North Run in 2019.

The London Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in distance running. The pandemic has forced two postponements but an expected 50,000 are due to take part this year.

Now in their final days of training, Ben and Tabby have already raised thousands for the charities and would welcome any further donations..

Anthony Nolan is a charity that helps saves the lives of those with blood cancer who need a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.

Isle of Man Breast Care is a local charity that provides direct support to the island’s breast cancer patients and their families.
