A banned driver from Douglas has won back his licence early.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jake Douglas Rhodes, of Crosby Terrace, was disqualified for three years in May 2023, after admitting driving under the influence of drugs twice in three days.

He had cannabis in his system the first time, then cannabis and benzoylecgonine, a derivative of cocaine, on the second occasion.

On December 11, advocate Paul Rodgers submitted an application for the ban to be cut short.

Mr Rodgers submitted documentation in support of the application and said that his client had done everything possible to turn his life around.

Magistrates agreed to reinstate Rhodes’ licence, though he’ll still need to take an extended driving test, and theory test, before driving again.
