A man who denies provoking behaviour at a Palestine Solidarity Campaign silent vigil has made a further court appearance.

Jason Leo Brown, 47, of Empress Drive, Douglas, was due for a pre-trial review on September 1, but claimed that he still hadn’t received the pre-trial review papers.

The prosecution said that the documents had been sent to his address on July 7, but that new copies had not been sent after Mr Brown claimed he didn’t receive the originals.

The documents were therefore handed to him in court on September 1, and an adjournment was granted until September 15.

Mr Brown said: ‘All I’ve done is criticise Islam. Are we living in an Islamic state?’

He was critical of the prosecution saying he’d been waiting two months for the documents, and also claimed that the police were trying to poison and silence him.

Bail continues.
