Paul McCormack, aged 47, of Castle Street, Peel, has denied an indecent assault.
He is also charged with rape, which can be heard only at the Court of General Gaol Delivery, so he is yet to enter a plea to that.
The offences are alleged to have been committed on December 6, 2020.
Mr McCormack was represented in court by duty advocate James Peterson.
Committal proceedings will take place on April 6.
Bail continues in the sum of £500 with conditions not to contact the complainant, to live at his home address, and not to leave the island without court consent.
