A drink-driver has appeared before magistrates admitting to being almost triple the legal limit.

David Gary Rees, aged 41, of Samuel Webb Crescent, Douglas, failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 102 on March 20, above the legal limit of 35.

The offence was committed at Church Road in Onchan, while he was driving a Ford Cougar.

Rees was represented in court by duty advocate Louise Cooil, who asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.

Magistrates ordered the probation report and adjourned sentencing until May 14.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500, with conditions not to drive, to contact probation and co-operate in the preparation of the report, and to reside at his home address.
