A 67-year-old man who was found lying on the ground near Pulrose Golf Links has been fined £100.
Gary Wilson admitted being drunk in public and has also been handed a six month licensing ban, prohibiting him from entering licensed premises or being sold alcohol.
Magistrates heard that police were called by a member of the public on July 7, at 7pm, reporting a male lying on the ground, next to the footpath between the golf club and Tesco warehouse.
Officers described Wilson, who lives at James Street in Douglas, as confused and having glazed eyes.
He tried to stand but was unable to without police assistance.
Wilson was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs and will pay £25 per week.
