A Douglas woman has been given a 12-month conditional discharge for being drunk and disorderly.

Police saw Jasmine Hope Coleman at 1.25am on June 6, involved in a verbal altercation with five people.

She was seen slapping a man twice, then swinging a third time but missing.

When officers spoke to her, she was described as smelling of alcohol.

Coleman, 20, of Watterson Close, appeared from custody, having been arrested after failing to turn up for court on June 11.

Defence advocate Stephen Wood said she handed herself in after finding out a warrant had been issued, and spent a night in custody.

Magistrates also ordered her to pay £125 prosecution costs, at a rate of £5 per week, deducted from benefits.
