A taxi driver from Onchan has shared videos of wallabies in the village.

Codger Christian posted the videos on Onchan and Garff residents’ page of Facebook showing the unusual sighting in the early hours of the morning.

One video showed a wallaby on King Edward Road.

Another showed one on the main road, near the roundabout at the top of Summerhill Road. It is not known how the creatures got to the village or if they are a permanent fixture.

A spokesman for Manx Wildlife Trust confirmed that the animals were being spotted in more locations around the island and had been seen in areas including the Braaid and Silverdale.

There is a large colony in Ballaugh, near the Wildlife Park from which many escaped in the early 1970s.
