An Onchan Commissioners’ employee is facing disciplinary proceedings following an incident at the village Co-op involving a loaf of bread.

Waste operations manager Phil Sutton has been investigated by the authority over claims that he was verbally aggressive to a member of the staff at the Onchan Co-op.

During the incident he is alleged to have pushed a loaf of bread back to the member of staff.

The chief executive of Onchan District Commissioners, Linda Radcliffe, told iomtoday.co.im: ’There has been an investigation into an incident a the Onchan Co-op.

’There had been no suspension.

’It has been investigated but there is no outcome as yet.

’The hearing has been adjourned.’

Asked about the incident, she explained: ’There was some exchange of words but no bread was thrown - he pushed a loaf of bread back to the member of staff.’
