The second ever gathering of rottweilers - called a Rottfest - was held last Saturday, July 8, at Kentraugh in Rushen.
’A great day was had by all,’ said organiser Jill Manning. ’The day dawned hot and sunny. We had four rotties this year, Alfie the elder, Alfie the younger (they are litter brothers), Laxey and a new addition, Archie.
’The paddling pool was out to cool the dogs down and after haring about with each other and various cuddly toys it was great to dip their paws, heads and in Archie’s case his entire body - in the pool!
’Scones, Pimms, tea and good times were had by the adults too.’
She added: ’After all the guests had gone Alfie spent time collecting as many of his cuddly toys as he could and took them back inside - how sweet is that?’
Jill thanked all who turned up those who sent their apologies they couldn’t make it.
