The Sharon Rye School of Dance has achieved an outstanding medal and trophy haul this year.
The students have danced in a number of events this year including championships held in Belfast, Dublin and London. They achieved more than 100 first place gold medals through out the dance year, trophy podium places and top ten All-Ireland sashes as well as silver and bronze medals.
Principal Sharon Rye said: ’We are so proud that of our amazing dancers who again have qualified to compete at the CRDM World Championships in Ireland April 2017.
’For the first time ever we have entered an adult Irish Ceili team which totally made our dance family complete.
’They took part in the Manx Guild and looked totally fabulous in our Manx tartan costumes. Our Juniors achieved a first place with and the highest mark over the whole country dance section winning not only the Sharon Rye Cup for the second year but the Leighton Stowell Trophy for the highest Mark. This is a massive achievement and all well earned.
’All parents and I are so proud of them all and once again loved promoting and representing the Isle of Man, showing we produce fantastic talent.’
She added the school would be representing the Isle of Man again at the end of September at the British Nationals to be held in London.
