Darren Kennish has made an impressive start to the British Disability Darts Association’s 2020 calendar.
The Ramsey man currently tops the ranking tables in the series’ wheelchair classification after wins at the first two events of the season.
Kennish’s latest success came at the BDDA Winmau Wheelchair Classic in Chester. It is the longest-running disability competition, Kennish winning all of his round robin matches and the semi-final 3-0.
In the final he beat England’s Kevin Stringer 3-1.
It was a double celebration for the Manxman as he won the following day’s BDDA Winmau Wheelchair Open at the same venue to secure maximum ranking points as he aims to qualify for the inaugural BDDA Winmau Masters in November.
Kennish’s success in Cheshire followed victory at the Eastbourne Open in January.
He again cruised through the round-robin stage of the Classic, winning his semi-final 3-0 before losing in the final to Belgium’s Vinnie D’Hondt.
Kennish came back fighting the next as he got the better of Ian Lewis to win the weekend’s Open competition .
Outside of the BDDA series, Kennish has had a busy season thus far reaching the last 32 of the Winmau Disabled Darts World Championships and the last 64 of the recent Dutch Open.
He wishes to thank Isle of Man Steam Packet, Horizon Darts Company, Laserdarts and his family for their continued support.
