Gavin William Patterson, aged 39, whose address was given as the prison, will face a trial on July 11 in summary court.
He has previously denied possessing 12.3 grams of cannabis, valued by police at £246, an offence alleged to have been committed on May 25.
Mr Patterson is currently on remand at the prison in relation to other matters.
He appeared in court via video link from the prison and was represented in court by advocate Paul Glover.
