Demolition is due to begin on Monday next week (August 27) of the former Barry Curran Motors showroom at 33 West Quay, Ramsey.
A section of the roadway will be closed to traffic while the work is in progress.
The demolition will not affect the adjacent Farmers’ Combine Warehouse, which was part of a recent planning application by Shearwater Properties Ltd, which was subsequently withdrawn.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has issued a temporary Building Preservation Notice to the Warehouse in order to protect the premises while its architectural value and merit is considered and assessment made as to its worthiness for entry in the department’s protected buildings register.
The notice is valid until November 10.
