A new chapter in the history of the Castle Mona Hotel in Douglas has been written this week as a section of it was demolished.

The Douglas hotel and former home of the governor was bought by the Tevir investment group in 2018 for £1.21 million.

It has submitted applications for the original building’s restoration but has not yet disclosed its plans for its future.

The demolition work was done on three-storey section of the hotel which had been built as an extension during the 1960s and is not listed.
