The Manx Heart Support Group has donated three new defibrillators for use across the east of the island.

The support group, was established in October 1994, prior to the setting up of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service at Noble’s Hospital.

They provide advice and support to patients with cardiac conditions and their families.

They also host social meetings and activities for their members.

The Manx Heart Support Group (MHSG) has previously donated defibrillators to several locations in the Isle of Man .

The three recent donations have been made at St Mary’s RC Church, Douglas, St Anthony’s RC Church, Onchan, and Kirby Garden Centre, Douglas.

When MHSG donates a defibrillator, they work in conjunction with Heartstart Isle of Man (now CPR IOM) which is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation.

CPR IOM provides training in the use and maintenance of the defibrillator and optional yearly updates in training for those who potentially will be called upon to use the defibrillator.
