The spill is spread across the section of the A2 from the dip up to the junction with Bibaloe Beg Road, Onchan.
Police have asked drivers to slow down on approach to the area.
The police Facebook page advises a sweeper is on route to remove the spill.
The police have now confirmed the spill has been cleared.
