Peel Charity Shop is asking good causes that need help to apply to it for funds.

Volunteers at the shop, which is on the town’s promenade and raises money for several Manx charities, thanked all who have supported it over a difficult 18 months, and have enabled it to assist a number of charities on the island during this time.

A spokeman said: ’Like many charities, we have also experienced the impact on funds during this period, and so, going forward, the trustees and committee have made the decision to revise the donations procedure.’

In the past the committee used a list of regular charities to make donations and now feel it is time to restructure to ensure it is catching charities that may not have received donations in the past.

It is now is asking charities to apply for donations by writing to the secretary at Peel Charity Shop, Shore Road, Peel, or by email to [email protected]

Applicants should tell the volunteers bit about the purpose and aims of their charities and inform them if they have a special project in mind for their request for a donation.

For any such projects applicants should include costings, and how they are raising money by other means.

The shop committee will discuss the merits of all applications received, which must be covered by its constitution.
