A Douglas-based gym will be open for business as usual on Christmas Day.

Elite Fitness in Spring Valley industrial estate is welcoming anyone who feels like shedding a few calories before their festive dinners to come between 9am and midday.

The gym was founded by Stefan White and Kevin Furlong in July 2013. Every year since then they’ve vowed to keep their business open on December 25.

Stefan said: ’We usually get about 30-35 people coming in every Christmas. It has had a really positive response and it’s more of a social event to see friends than anything.

’We’re all looking forward to it, this year more than ever.’

Elite Fitness is located at Unit 8, Spring Valley Industrial Estate and will be open on Christmas Eve 6am to 6pm, Boxing Day 9am to 12pm and December 28 from 6am to 6pm.
